Formed in 2022 by pianist José Andre Montano and drummer Luke Durham, Joy Spring! is a jazz-fusion passion project, paying homage the great players and composers of the ‘70s and ‘80s. Whether playing the Latin-infused works of Chick Corea and Michel Camilo, or the silky-smooth swing of Michael Brecker’s Steps Ahead, this group is deeply rooted in the straight-ahead tradition, taking its name from the Clifford Brown standard of the same name.
