Don Dillingham

Don Dillingham’s vocal talent showcases his diversity and creative spin on the classics. Immersed in music his entire life, he crooned to his students, lifted his voice through spirituals with a church ensemble, and serenaded with Virginia’s famous Alexandria Harmonizers, before launching his solo career. Throughout, his love of vocal harmonies and swinging melodies has been consistent. Versatile, Don consistently uses song to take his listeners on a musical journey through many genres and classics, while still making the music fresh. While with the Virginia Harmonizers he sang at The Music Center at Strathmore, North Bethesda, MD in the off-Broadway musical The Story of Harvey Milk and Anne Hutchinson; the 70th anniversary of D-Day on the beaches of Normandy, France; and Carnegie Hall, NYC. Don’s smooth baritone has been heard at the legendary Washington, DC club Mr. Henry’s; The Blues Jazz and Supper Club of Bethesda, MD; The elegant Carlysle Room in Alexandria, VA; Baltimore, MD’s An die Musik, and the renowned Alice’s Jazz and Culture Club (JACCs) which hosted African American jazz talents to Northeast Washington, DC. With TKQ (Terry Koger Quintet), he appeared at the celebrated Mid Atlantic Jazz Festival. More recently at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn, Don soloed as Paul Williams of the Temptations, in the musical I Heard it Through the Grapevine, and showcased his singular talents with concerts entitled: Unforgettable: A Tribute to Nat King Cole and a themed show titled Life in the Key of Love.
